This design concept of a modern and easily portable Teasmade, which receives power through a standard USB cable, began with the discovery that some people use hot water instead milk for making porridge.

This lead to the idea of producing a kettle that could only make one cup of tea or coffee one at a time, but after some more research and using mathematics in order to balance out the measurements in the design, it lead to a Teasmade that was big enough to fill only two cups of water, or one cup and a bowl of porridge.
